Water heater will not light

Tried this morning to light the waterheater on my Lance 1010. Propane was on and the battery is fine but no click click sound of the lighter unit on the waterheater. This is a new one to me. Anybody out there with some suggestions? Sure appreciate your good help!

RE: eye to eye turnbuckle opening up on eyes

As suggested by SoCalDesertRider I ordered some HD turnbuckles with a breaking strength of 3500 lbs. I installed them this weekend and will give them a try this week.
Thanks a lot for all your good suggestions.

RE: Size 19.5 wheel/tire for stock 07 2500HD Silverado no mods

I am in agreement with Pete! We have the 225 on our Rickson wheels now for 3 years and we love the things. No rubbing and no mods.
The only things is we are going 3 miles faster than the speedometer tells us.
Lots of peace of mind on the extra security of the HD wheels and tires.

RE: Truth about hitch extensions?

DaveDye I saw your picture of your Dodge pickup with the two chains running towards the back of the hitch. You told us that you have switched from hook turnbuckles to closed ones but the picture shows that the turnbuckles are kind of open. This is what my problem is and I hope to correct that by using a heavier kind of turnbuckle than in the past. My eye to eye turnbuckles opened up under the stress of the pull. I bought mine at Harbour freight and most of the forum experts just told me to buy the real American made ones instead of the Chinese junkers.

RE: eye to eye turnbuckle opening up on eyes

Like to thank everybody for their good suggestions. At this point in time I am looking mostly at two items, the HD turnbuckle ( not Chinese) and the chain binder.
I have very little experience with chain binders and really would not know at this point what size I woul need for my job. They cover a lot of territory.
Thanks again you guys and I keep you posted what I will eventually decide on.
And I am alway open minded to more suggestions.

eye to eye turnbuckle opening up on eyes

I have a 25 inch extension on my tow beast in order for me to pull my CRV with my Lance 1010/ Silverado 2500HD Truck Camper.
I run a chain from the back of the truck chassis( on either side ) towards the end of the extension. At the end of the chain I use a 3/8" x 6" eye to eye turnbuckle to keep the chain nice and snug and to prevent the extension from moving a little left to right and VV.
After driving some 20 miles the chains on both sides are hanging loose and the eyes of the turnbuckles are not eyes anymore but hooks.
I picked up these 3/8" turnbuckles at Harbor freight and they look and feel pretty solid. I do not know what their break point is listed as though.
When these eyes open up I can feel a little bit more fishtail at the back of the camper and that I think is due to the shaft of my toad's towbar moving a little left to right in the hitch opening. Turnbuckles come in a lot of different strentghs I guess and although these feel very solid they might be too weak. This is just my opinion. I am not very mechanical.
Any ideas on this to prevent the little bit of fishtail?

RE: Just curious how many TC owners are over 70 years old?

Ok you youngsters do not feel too bad about being around the 70 mark, I am looking right now at the 80 mark and stil go camping with our Lance 1010. The wife and I are leaving tomorrow for Rio de Janeiro where we pick up the Holland America Line (Rotterdam) for a cruise trip down to Buenos Aires and the Falklands and then around the cape up to Santiago in Chili.
When we get home again around the 20th of this month we have to get ready for out TC campout of seven days at Morrow Bay and the following seven days at Refugio Beach.
Age is just a number do not let it get you down. Happy Camping!!

Why do turnbuckels loosen up?

We have a 30 inch extension out of our tow beast so that we can pull a toad, boat or whatever. In order to make the extension somewhat more rigid we have a chain on either side running from the back of the truck frame to the end of the extension and tighten these chains up with a turnbuckle. After about 100 miles I noticed on several occasions that the chain is not rigid anymore but there is some slack in it. So somebody suggested to put an extra nut at the end of the turnbuckle to kind of work like a lock nut. But I cannot find any left handed nuts so I was contemplating threadlocker to prevent the turnbuckels from loosening up. Anybody out there with some experience with this threadlocker stuff? Can it be undone?

RE: Honda CRV dingy towing

We towed our 2007 CRV this last week and when taking the toad for a spin an orange light on the dash came on. The dealer in Goleta fixed it at no charge (took 3 hours) but the next day it came on again and a dealer in Santa Maria fixed it also (2 1/2 hours) and believe it or not but it is on again. The dealers tell us that it is an emission problem and comes and goes but the manual seems to think that it could be a serious issue. Anybody out there with some experience?

RE: Honda CR-V Owners

We have a 2007 CRV and had a baseplate installed. The installer told us that this was not an easy job. Also have a Blue Ox tow bar and have always trouble getting it off when I come home. I have to use a rubber mallet to get the pins out.
Also this last week on our trip pulling this CRV we decided to take the toad fort a spin and a orange light on the dash came on. The Honda dealer in Goleta fixed the problem but the next day it came on again and this time a dealer in Santa Maria fixed it and believe it or not it is on again. Different dealers different stories why this check engine light comes on. Anybody out there with a similar problem?
The manual tells us to have it taken care of right away because of some serious problems.
